Fading Flame

Featured Replies

This is a kinda old one actually. I wrote about two months ago. I never posted it on this forum because I never really cared for this one too much, until now. I began relistening to some of my old(er) songs as to see if I was developing any as a composer and I came across this one. It's been a little while so I can't recall exactly what I was going for with this one but now I can really see this as a theme to some kind of dungeon in an RPG like game. Instead of giving my exact interpatation of the song, I'll just ask for your feedback. Could you see this piece as a RPG dungeon theme? Is this better or worse then some of my more recent stuff? and most importantly, is this at all good?

I feel like I've already listened to this somehow... well anyway, I like the progression you got here. This reminds me of a 'hurry, faster' type of piece. Maybe just me, but I can see it vividly. I think some of your newer tracks are more developed though. Which since you are saying this is a older track is infact a good thing. Still, not bad. Keep at it.

Thank you for the listen. It does have a kind of hurry-faster feel to it I guess. I still see a RPG dungeon like theme but oh well. Thank you for the feedback and as long as I am improving then I am happy :w00t:.

I caught myself yesterday looking at sites for RPGs. As if I have the time to do any such thing.

You always put up nice work and this is no exception. It does seem to have a hurry up feel to it. ( I gotta stop reading other comments before posting mine). Can you play this yourself? It doesn't seem to be that difficult.

I enjoyed this piece a lot. It kind of went on a little too long for my tastes but it was still good stuff. A suggestion would be to import everything into a DAW (if you have one) and maybe record you playing the guitar part and mix it and see how it sounds. Anyways, good job and I look forward to hearing more.

Yes, I can play this myself. Not very hard at all. There is a second harmony acoustic guitar during the part with thundering percussion which I can also play. I'm not sure exactly why I decided to put acoustic guitars in this song but it seems to work and it seems to make this song sound a little bit original. Anyway, thank you for saying I always put nice stuff on here. I try to keep my work consistent in quality. That's not to say I don't write a really bad song every now and then but if I do there is almost no chance that I will post a thread for it here ;).

I have written nothing but bad for the last 2 weeks, so I know what you mean. Did you check out the japanese girl playing?

Not yet but I will check it out tonight.

I found my foot tapping to this one! For some odd reason this work slightly reminds me of the "Macgyver" theme song.

The part I enjoyed the most was the little interlude in the middle section where the bass guitar and I think violin were exchanging words. Nice to hear the bass guitar come to the forefront a bit. I used to be in many bands as a bass guitar player. Anyway, great work! I enjoyed listening. Thanks for posting.
