July 25th, 2007, Free Improvisation.

Hey everyone, here's a free improvisation I recorded a little bit ago. To give you a frame of reference for what it sounds like...it sounds roughly 19th century with lots of "wrong" chord changes in it. haha.

Free Improvisation

This was really, really enjoyable to listen to! Thanks for sharing.

Another gem!! Have you ever thought of adding some instruments to your improvs? A flute in this one would be awesome. A cello underneath it all would only enhance your playing. Just a thought.

Unfortunately my digital piano is rather limited with its instruments. it has piano, harpsichord, clavichord, flute organ, strings, strings + brass, church organ, rock organ, electric piano (various kinds), choir. that's about it. it also has some drum loops and a jazz bass. I have played around with some of these, particularly harpsichord, clavichord and organ sounds. I find that I enjoy these other sounds very much, but I continue to prefer the piano over just about anything. I think it may be due to having heard my dad play boogie woogie on the piano every day since I was a baby. (speaking of which, yes I do play a bit of boogie woogie as well as my Romantic style). Thanks for the suggestion though, it never hurts to try to branch out!

Well done. I wish I could play that handy so that I could play as I think as well...
