The Adventurer's Challenge

Featured Replies

Hello all, I'm new to this site. So I'll guess I'll post one of my compositions here.

It's intended as cinematic music.

Putfile - The Adventurers Challenge

Greetings Bart

Hello!

I enjoy the harmonies and your orchestration... That ostinato rhythm is pretty specific to this kind of pieces! It would be great (my opinion) if some interventions would "interrupt" or just have some crescendos and decrescendos in the percussion or bass to create more tension! :shifty:

In my opinion, this piece is wonderful!

Another thing... you might need a score of some sort (pdf.,mus., sib.,mid. etc.) if you want more reviews! ;)

Sebastian

A fine piece that does create the "challenge" mood. I agree with sebastian that more dynamic variation could improve the piece. I like the orchestration with just one quibble: I felt the first two harp entries seemed vague almost fumbled although the last one was great. Good work!

Yes I know, I might buy Logic soon which allows me to make proper scores. Right now, I'm not happy with the scores when I get pieces to sound good.

Love it!

Do you realise that the violin/horn melody at 1:37/1:47 respectively is pretty much a quote of the line "Ohhh tidings of comfort and joy" in the xmas carol "God rest ye merry, gentlemen"? Unless its on purpose...

You're right... didn't think of that before... However, I don't think anyone had the idea to harmonise it this way....
