I'm trying to write a piece for a competition, and Im having some writer's block.

I would just go crazy and write a symphony, but to stay within the time limit, I want to do a tone poem.

Does anyone have any Suggestions on what I can write the tone poem about.

Well, I don't really know what books you've read, but that's always a good start. Imagine a good book and take a particular scene from it. It doesn't have to be this big illustrative thing like Don Quixote, lol.
