Ok!!! the thing is that when i sit and play piano i can play verry good melodies and i mean reaallyyy good. but the thing is after i play it i forget it and i can not write it

please helpppp!!! any sugestions to what i could do???

Ahh, if you want to remember your melody for composition, you need to play in sections. If you play all at once, you will forget. Once your finished perfecting a section, write it down immediately, and move on to the next section or measure. It's like building a house. You can't build a house all at once. It takes months, or years to complete a house. Same thing with writing music. It is impossible to compose a decent song in one sitting, just like it is impossible to complete a house in one sitting.

Also, if you improve at dictation, your memory here will improve greatly.

I agree with chopin. I usually play a section or two, and repeat it many times. I'm not too advanced at composing yet, so most of the pieces are 1-2 minutes long. I repeatedly play individual sections, then I repeatedly play the whole entire song, maybe 15-20 times so that I'll remember the piece. Then I try to write it down as soon as possible.
