A song for piano

Featured Replies

This is the first song I have ever written for piano. It changes key, time, and tempo several times throughout the song. I would love to hear what you have to say about it. I also am needing a title for this peice, as I can never think of titles for my music.

cool!!!!!! very fine piece! its lovely mood captures the attention of the listener from the very beginning and hold it till the end - very intersting and enjoyable composition, with most delicate hues and subtle and meaningful variations of textures and dynamics, and very wise and effective modulations. just between 2:50 and 3:10 i think it is a bit random and "common", but just a little. congrats!

From the start it sounds like a nice, attractive piece. I especially liked the progression around 1:50 that brought back the melody. Sometimes your tempo changes seem somewhat random to me (specifically around 1:35). Perhaps you should try working your way into them slowly? The ending was very enigmatic, but I don't think you ever really had a climax in the piece. If there was one, I'd say it was around 2:00, and that's way too early. I kept expecting another huge section, but there wasn't one, and that irked me a bit. Also, I don't think you made good enought use of the lower half of the piano (my opinion). I really like the deep sounds of the piano.

As for a name, you should try something really vague, so that no matter what, it fits the song . Something like "Remembrance" or "Air". Then you just translate that to Italian, German, or French for an exotic texture .

Hope this helps,

Evan
