oboeducky
Let's see what you all can do with this problem of mine :P So, when I play on the piano, I can improvise super-excellent, ultra-hard music and keep the general idea in my head. the problem comes when I try to transcribe my pieces. I write lots of dissonance and insane runs with weird key bases, so transcribing absolutely takes AGES, if I can do it at all. Is there anyone else who can give me a few tips, suggestions, or alternatives please? Thanks.
Flint
I rarely use a piano for improv, but when I'm trying to do something difficult I generally set my mp3 player to record. When recording I also call out verbally what I'm doing, just in case I can't follow what the heck I did later.

Tumababa
Why not get a nice keyboard with weighted keys and just improvise into a midi sequencer? That way you have all the note information right there.
