Rapsodie en E mineur

Featured Replies

So here is a piece for the colleciton of guitar duets I'm composing... It's in e minor and maybe it'll be continued, under that aspect I'm not so sure...

So here are the PDF file and the Midi file... And the Sibelius file.

Thanks for all the reviews! ;)

This piece has a good rhythm and a lively spirit. The GM (midi) playback, however, is for "percussive organ" which sounds quite good but isn't two guitars :). It was for electric guitar and electric bass guitar, was it? Well worth continuing this piece.

is the title French? If so, it might be better to write it as "en mi mineur".

There's some nice guitar writing in this peice, but it felt a little mechanical to me. Mostly because of the rather limited harmony. I liked the occassional touches of more distant harmony, but would have appreciated if the piece had actually allowed itself to go visit those more distant harmonies a tiny bit longer. As it was, I found myself being a bit bored by the constant return to E minor every few notes.

That being said, I am still looking forward to hearing what else you will give us as guitar duets.

Well, thanks for the critics. About the .mid file, I don't know why Sibelius exports it that way, but it's always a percussive organ that sounds. Does anybody know why?

@Qccowboy: thanks, yes the title, you are right, is in French, but I thought that most of the people understand E Mineur better than Mi mineur. And the harmonies, yes I know I go often back to the original E minor, but in the future I'll try to explore new harmonies. ;)
