how to compose with keyboard linked to computer

Featured Replies

hi

can someone tell me what steps i need to take to link my korg keyboard to my laptop.

I am using macbookpro and have sibelius installed on it. How do I get the two linked up so I when play on the keyboard, the notes i play will magically appear on the page?

cheers

Hi there. Should be pretty easy. If your keyboard has a usb port you can just use a usb cord to connect to the computer. If not, it should have midi ports. You can buy, for not very much money, a midi to usb interface to connect to your computer.

Of course nothing you do will make the notes "magically appear on the page". You going to have to put in a little effort.

I hope this helps!!

pretty easy.just plug in your keyboard, configure midi input in sibelius and start working :)
