Here is an idea I had, can people listen to it and point out faults and pitfalls, but also maybe point out strengths as well so I can in the end streamline my composing in a positive direction

The music sounds good, but it doesn't sound Hungarian. My father is Hungarian and I have come across quite a bit of Hungarian folk music, and this isn't it. I would recommend changing it to ____ dance, with ____ being where you are from. If you are from Hungary, then I apologise, but I don't hear the hungarian-qualities to the music.

The doesn't mean that it is bad music though. It is good. I found myself tapping along with it... I also liked the transition between the first set of material and the second. I think that you have yourself a good starting point for a fuller piece.

It starts of kinda Gypsy-ish, but some of the progressions feel a little bit too modernish (that diatonic step down, which is used a lot in popular music). My suggestion would be to try to make it a little bit more lighter (ie, more staccato/spiccato!), and try to diminish/augment some of the chords a bit. Of course, that might just give it an exotic rather than an authentic feel, but whatever .

i have no idea what hungarian music or gyspy music sounds like, so i can't help you there. But i can tell you that i really liked it! However, It did get a little boring with all of the repeats. I think it would be cool if you brought in an instrument (don't know which one) and give a melody that would work with the one you already have. That might make it not feel so repetitive. Idk. good work!
