sibelius instrument (zither) sound???

Featured Replies

I recently composed a 3 part movement with movement featuring the zither, and just wondering why does sibelius have the zither filed under pitched percussion while it is clearly a stringed instrument, I own a zither myself, in real life sounds more like a harp. And when I covert it to mp3 file it sounds even more like a percussion/drum sound which I don't like. anyone know if this is corrected or updated in sib5 or in any of the Sibelius Sound/ Kontakt Player products you can buy?

I'd classify the Zither as a percussion instrument; surely it's categorically related to the piano and dulcimer? I suggest you just change the sound channel to that of a harp if you're not satisfied with sibelius' audio output.

hmmm but the zither is crafted much like the string (violin) family, wood and strings.

So how can I change the sound channel so it's more like a harp???

Thanks

Well I still believe the zither is a member of the string family but I did figure out how to change the sound device to a harp sound!
