There's no title in the document, but I would suggest not using the term "Rockapella" in your piece, as the singing group can probably sue you if you do.

only I have no intentions in doing anything with this haha. I wrote it for fun and it probably won't go anywhere beyond this forum.

I can't believe I forgot to write that down in my first post. Yes, they are all male voices, and I tried for a while to write lyrics for them but none of the ones I wrote seemed to fit well.

Songwriting is collaborative, so "finding" lyrics is probably not the best approach. I hope this doesn't sound too harsh, but it can be perceived as insulting if you refer to lyrics that way. I'm not offended, but I'm telling you that other lyricists can get offended by a statement like that. Whether the music and lyrics are created hand-in-hand or not, they should be created for each other specifically. Perhaps you want to find a lyricist who will write lyrics for this piece. Conversely, sometimes a lyricist will approach you with something he's written, or a composer will find inspiration in a poem or something like that, and the music will be written specifically for the lyric.

But, as your musical idea is very specific, you're not going to just "find" an existing lyric that will fit nicely to your music. Those words weren't created with your music in mind. Lyric writing is a very specific form of poetry, and from someone who writes both music and lyrics, I can tell you that it's not good to treat lyricists as a necessary evil. You can always have your singers sing "oohs" and "ahs" or "alleluias" if you wish, but a lyricist is not someone who just puts down words so that your singers will have something to sing.

I realize I've gone on a rant, and you may not feel that way at all, but your statement implies, if not a derogatory feeling, at least a feeling of superiority towards lyric writers.

I realize what you are saying. I never meant to insult anyone or treat lyrics as a necessary evil. I was just presenting something I had from a while ago that I thought wasn't that bad musically. I'm sorry if the way I said things seems to degrade lyricists in any way, but thats not what I intended in doing. However, I'll change the post since you pointed that out.
