Music upload website question

Featured Replies

Not sure if this is the right area for this question, but I figured this was as close as I'd get.

Is there any site like youtube but for music, where you can embed the player in another site or blog? I know that putfile.com can upload music, but then you can't embed the player anywhere else like you can for videos on that site or for youtube videos, etc. So, does anyone know if there is a good site for uploading music and embedding in a blog?

hmm, one i use, and many others do use too, is this one SoundClick - Free MP3 music download and much, much more.

they let you post for free as much music as you want, but you have a limit in size that is around 10mb (with the free subscription) but if you want and you can pay, then you can post bigger files... just take a look there, maybe it is what you were looking for, not the perfect place, as for my wishes, but a nice one :)

^ I don't think you can embed with SoundClick.

I'm not sure about embedding, but I know that tindeck.com is a pretty straight ahead music host. I recommend them to most people.

There are several free flash mp3 players that can be put on your webpage. Check Google!

I'd recommend a flash player because it can add a bit more protection to your files. There are plenty of free ones and you can also create ones with programs like Swish Max 2- which is what I used on my website.

Cheers!

Thanks a lot. Soundclick is actually really confusing, but it does allow for an embedded player, so it's working for now!

ReverbNation is a decent site to post your music. If you are looking to post your play-list of tunes you upload onto myspace or facebook, you can embed your whole play-list into your page in the form of a "widget". Widgets are a good way to develop a fan base, too, if that's your intent. I can't really tell from your OP what you're trying to accomplish, but this is another option I've found appealing.

Good luck!

Thanks! Yeah, it's basically for promoting myself and being able to put my music on my own website, rather than linking to an outside source.

I didn't know reverbnation did that. I have an account there... I'll go check it out.

Thanks, again!
