Electronic Song.

I make music on FL studio. This is one of many that I have made, but one of the few with actual lyrics. I'll be posting more songs/pieces/works/dabblings. I guess my genre would be Industrial for this song.

Feedback appreciated.

I felt it was alright, but it was too slow to dance to, try 10-20 clicks faster. The vocals could have benefited from a gate, maybe a bit of digitization with a bitcrusher and a lowpass, there was a weird hiss.

I felt it could have glitchier as well, it was just a very sparse mix, which gave it a bit of an old-school feel, which mixed interestingly with the more modern and clean sound.

I'm not sure if I'd consider it industrial per se, but I have very little experience, except in a few goth bars. It just seemed too... happy?

The break before the reprise of the main riff. had a really cool riff, maybe instead of going back to the main riff, use that and keep the same envelopes as the main riff, then develop that section almost like a minimalist piece.

I'd suggest listening to some Aphex Twin and Squarepusher - especially his non-electronic works. But I like gitchy stuff.

The problem with vocals can easily be fixed if I didn't use my computer microphone. I tried to compensate with a simplistic filter and a focused EQ to take out an odd high pitch ringing.

I wouldn't necessarily call it happy, but yeah, I get what you're saying. Its not really...dark...enough to be industrial.

The "cool" riff, if I understand what you're saying, comes on right before the vocals? I think I know what you're trying to say, like, use the "cool" riff rhythm but use the instrument from the main? I'm afraid I'm a little bit of a noob when it comes to "envelopes".
