Piece for flute and piano

Featured Replies

Hi, I just composed this small kinda through-composed piece (but i'm still working on it). PLease let me know if the flute part is playable, since i'm not a flutist i can really tell. This piece has a "medieval with twist" first theme, then it gets weird. LOL. It's very uh... my style. PLease comment!!

thanks guys.

I just realized the flute is too loud... crap

Actually, you don't have any dynamic marks for the flute have you? I set down the volume of the flute in sibelius while listening;)

Anyway I must say that I really loved the piece. I think the part where it gets "weird" is just as beautiful as the medieval part. The harmonies you use and the rythmic variety (especially in the piano part) are really great!

The score doesn't look good though. Especially page 3 looks very squeezed and as I said the dynamics are missing;)

But it's a really good piece! Great work:)

I'm not a flute player either so else will have to tell you if it's playable;)

Hey,

As a flautist I can tel you that this should be playable, although the middle C's and the high F sharps could be a little tricky, but certainly no problem for a professional flautist.

I quite liked the piece, I thought there was an interesting mixture of rhythms between the flute and the piano that worked quite well. The only thing I found was that the piece wasn't overly consistent - it would have been nice at the end to have the original theme from the beggining repeated.

Good piece! :)
