Unable to load .NKI into Kontakt2

Hi Guys,

Problem:

When I open Kontakt player and 'LOAD the file "The Stradivari Violin v1.06.nki" I get error - "The patch you are trying to load cannot be used with this application"

Kontakt 2.2.4.001

This is my first effort at Sibelius 5 or any other software of this kind.

I have succesfully installed and registered Sibelius 5.

I downloaded Stradivari sample library.

Problem:

When I open Kontakt player and 'LOAD the file "The Stradivari Violin v1.06.nki" I get error - "The patch you are trying to load cannot be used with this application"

Please help me, I am new to this and have been working on this problem for a week now, instead of composing. :(

"Downloaded"... Last I checked, this forum does not support piracy.

The Stradivari to my knowledge has been discontinued, I may be wrong.

I'm curious: do you mean "Installed" the Stradivari? or "Downloaded" the Strad?

I mean, the Strad library is one heck of a huge file...

If you are having installation problems with the Strad, then the best place to get information is the NorthernSounds forum, where the makers of the Strad regularly post.

Iceman, I don't want to start off on the wrong foot with you here, but if you pirated something, you're better off not asking any questions, at all. I'm not saying no or yes to piracy, but if you do, a smart tip is to not talk about it, ever. Copyright laws are getting stronger and stronger, so you need to watch your back.

If the file was obtained legitimately, isn't there technical support to contact?

You're probably trying to load an .nki from and old library that was created to be loaded into Kontakt (1)...

You cannot load Kontakt 1 samples into Kontakt 2.

i.e GPO v1 comes with Kontakt 1, Sibelius 5 comes with Kontakt 2....(Sound Essentials) if you try to load the "more complet" library of GPO v1 into Kontakt 2 you'll get that message:

The patch you are trying to load cannot be used with this application
