October 9, 200817 yr This is one of my very first pieces from a while ago. I've revised it a little bit and thought I should put it up for feed back. I do realize the little gaps in parts in some areas. I plan to fix that as soon as I have the time. And I do also realize that it's a weird ensemble, but I like the sound. October 10, 200817 yr You have a lot of doubled notes, like lines that are CDGFFFF... looking for that multi-tongued sound? Some of the counterpoint is interesting... i dunno if i like it, but it's cool. Neat sounds, but i never grabbed on to anything too hard, even though there are some cool repeated motifs, etc.
October 10, 200817 yr It seems pretty rhythmically stable, as it kind of just flows and bobbs along; some faster passages and silences used for contrast would really help it imo. I like the ensemble though, though some of the timbres don't blend very nicely in some instances. A nice work though!
October 10, 200817 yr That 2nd horn part is pretty much impossible to play. It might be a good idea to get an orchestration book.
