phat bassy birds/hummingbird dance

there's some dance music from me.

with phat bassy birds i tried to make humorous(ironic),but still enjoyable ride.

i made some ironic tricks/remarks at certain self-proclaimed best producer in the world, hence phat bassy in the name and the use of voice. well, maybe you'll guess :)

hummingbird dance is supposed to be a - well - sort of ballet movement. i tried to make it sound elegant and clean, yet energetic and urban. pretty minimalist and detailed. well, minimalist break beat or whatever the genre.

don't be boring?!

I do like the initial sounds you used in phat bassy birds, I got the image of this hulking, cranky bird....just from the sound. And I also think the elegant minimalist sounds of the hummingbird was a good choice. The speed of the bird itself is so fast, almost beyond understanding. So I was expecting a lot of quick, erratic, spastic movements of sound....something constantly changing in tempo and dynamics, and a ballet is just hard to imagine in that aspect, it would have to be in fast forward in my mind. But this is just my opinion. Maybe I don't know the true diversity of the word "ballet". I do think the piece is good though. I like the light ominous tones carried in the background, at times, like at 2:26.

care to guess what bird (in a human form) is portrayed in the first piece? :)

as for the 'ballet' thing, well, i kinda imagined this dance and i think slow bass drum could carry the load of slowing down the actual bodily movements - that could be achieved in groups of people doing different lines of dance while interchanging in time - not completely contrapunctual, rather semi. as for the light tones - i imagine this dance starting in almost total darkness, somewhere near the massives of mountains while the light tones serve as indicating the light coming in and out and shading it on the whole scene. stroboscope lights. also i thought about black and white and sometimes naked dancers doing it all :)

well, actually all my 'bird' pieces were imagined like a 'ballet' or a modern dance. i still haven't completed the whole music, but it really works for me to imagine it as a dance. and not just party dance.
