My Movie Music

Hello;

I am fourteen years old, and I have been composing music for films and games since I was about eleven. I just recently completed the soundtrack for my friend's film: When the Tide Turns. I also have been working on the music for two video games (Alagaesia Online and Seven Islands Online.)

Tell me what you think of my work.

Polaris: Rays of Song

I took a listen to the music associated to "When the tide turns". The music seemed well orchestrated. It was hard to listen to and get an idea on how to comment because there was no description of the scenes that the music is attached to. I also found that all the music for the film were in the same key/tonal center with almost identical openings. Is that intentional for the film and its mood?

I'm sure you and your friend don't want to give away the plot of the film just yet but some kind of general description of the scenes would help on what we need to think about when listening to your music. :)

Thank you for attempting to evaluate it. Well, yes, it is somewhat supposed to open in the same key (but I'm sure I could have changed it more.) The movie is supposed to be kind of "mysterious" and my friend wanted the score to make it feel more "solid" (because this is one of his first serious attempts at making a movie, and it had quite a few flaws.) I started just about every song with an A, and used the same motifs to many times. Also, the movie only had about 3 moments with actual action/suspense, and everything else was just undertones. (Minus the intro scene.) Anyway I'm probably leaving many of your questions unanswered, so I'll just stop typing and see what you think.
