Graveyard Digger

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

long time no post here :) I've visited forums regulary but never posted

Now I have something that could be interesting for some of you. Title is Graveyard Digger and it's one of tracks for horror adventure game Striigatorium. Enjoy:

Graveyard Digger

All comments are more than welcome :)

Could you set the scene here.

Is this the opening credits or the ending or as part of the game itself?

If in the game, what is happening?

The music itself lends itself well towards a horror scenario and is put together well.

Nicely done

Ron

This is f--ing awesome. Every use of effect seems so in place giving you that chilling feel. The only complaint I have is that the strings sound a little flat, maybe put some dynamics on them.

This is very well created, the phrase "Music begins with silence" that I'm feeling here, and I love your use of it.

They say alot in horror movies that showing the beast actually makes the film less frightening, and that sort of leaving things out is good for creating a mood. I feel that from this piece, that it's building a climax but not quite showing it (represented by the pauses between the phrases) that really captures the energy of the listener. Was that your intention?

I second the request to know the backround of the piece, by the way ^^

Thanks guys :)

rolifer:

It's music for first level, point and click, horror adventure game. Scene is on graveyard where main character, artist, is digging bones for sculptures he makes, but strange things starting to happen... :P

beefybeef:

Strings are flat, true. Nice point.

Lord Sorasen:

I didn't want to make real climax since this is level music and it's meant to be looped, but yeah, I love to use contrasts and 'silence'

even though as beefy pointed out that the strings are flat, I think the flatness gives it a more "here i am" sound that isnt too dynamic or distracting for that matter.

I would prefer to hear more chord changes after u come in with all the instruments, but what you have is pretty much... awesome :)

g00d stuff nino :)

thanks Trev :)

We'll my point was that strings are flat, but because I liked it that. It was intentional to keep same chord progression without changes and to keep it simple orchestrated.

Thanks for commenting ;)
