I'm having an issue with Finale 2009

Featured Replies

Is there a way to listen to a single chord in Finale? I'm composing an orchestra quartet and I would like to be able to listen to one chord that all the instruments are playing at once without listening to the whole piece. Is there a way to just select a tool and click on that specific time in the piece where certain instruments are playing and hear just that chord?

Thanks.

Have you looked at the help files? There are several playback-related shortcuts. I'm using Finale 2008 on a Mac, so I don't know if it's the same on yours, but I can use Alt-Space and it will play back whatever my cursor is pointing on.

YES! Thank you so much. I just looked in the "keyboard shortcuts" and there it was. The "Scrub" function. You hit control + space bar and drag across the music and it plays notes from all staves, control + shift + space bar to play just one staff. I was looking for a tool of some sort. Oops. Thank you for your help!!
