Piece in C Minor

Featured Replies

Hello! I hung around a little when YC first moved to this space, but I haven't been by lately. I've been writing a little though, and I'd really appreciate some feedback on this piece. It's relatively short, and not great, but I like to see which kinds of work appeals to people besides myself, so that I can learn my strengths and weaknesses as a composer before collegiate work.

Unfortunately, I'm working in Finale Notepad, so I don't have a midi... sorry! If anyone could convert for me, that'd be wonderful. So, that's about it. Thanks a lot!

That was cool. I can't really give you any constructive criticism as I hardly know anything... but I enjoyed it. How do you do the pedal markings and such? I'm very new to Finale. I think I've had it for like a week.

Ah, I'm using Notepad, I'm assuming it's the same in all versions, and what I do is press the sign that looks like a whole note with an accent over it, then click the note where I want the pedling to begin. This brings up a menu. To start sustain pedling, you press the box that looks like the word Leo written in italics Then on the note where I want it to end, I follow the same process except I press the box that looks sorta like an asterick.

So, ah, that's it. Hope that helps, and thanks for the comment!

I found it... and I believe it's "Ped." in cursive (You know... for "Pedal"). I could be wrong...

Oh... yeah. Duh. I feel rather stupid. That does make sense, doesn't it? Thanks.
