..Have I just copied something?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I started working on this a couple of days ago.. and before I bother continuing.. I really need to know if this is actually mine or if it's pretty much been written before, it sounds really familiar to me, but that often happens after I've been working on a piece for a while.. Anyway, in all honesty.. have I stolen someone else's music?

In the sound file it's only the first 40 seconds or so.

Feedback greatly appreciated.

I don't recognize it from anywhere.

too quiet.

Do you mean it's too quiet for you to hear or is that a criticism of the piece?

It's SUPPOSED to be a woodblock, but I can't find the right sound.

And I don't think I'll get rid of it, because I quite like what I can do with it. But thanks for the advice, anyway.

I haven't heard anything similar to this so far, but I think you are having a good start.

I think this piece is quite interesting, but I don't really see something that is actually happening...maybe because this is just the beginning of the piece, and it is still in its works, but if you can add more "movement" to it, that might make the music sound a lot more interesting.

PS: I'm not sure what i wrote made sense or not, because I don't make any sense.

Haha. Thanks, yeah it made sense. But yes.. this is like... the beginnings of an introduction.. so it's not supposed to be all that developed yet. I just wanted to check I hadn't copied something before I continued.

Thanks, though! I will work on it some more eventually and you can see if I manage what you're advising.

Does not sound stolen

I just took it and copyrighted it, so....

you're stealing from me.
