Sunrise & Midnight (where i get my name)

this is a piece with text by myself that i wrote in a strictly 4-part for mixed chorus. the text came about from an exercise in my english class here at the college I attend. I had to revise it to convey the image that the title depicts. the music reflects the title, starting soft and building to the final chord which consists of an A flat major chord divided between the bass, tenor, alto, and soprano notes. hope you like it.

the other post is a SATB divisi with piano accompaniment. the text is also by me.

The harmonies are fairly tight on this one, although spread throughout the octaves. I make use of a lot of major and minor 2nds in this piece. I also build a complex spread of chords going from a six-part chord to an eleven-part chord in the big section of this piece. The text is written in response to a series of books that i read dealing with the mystical realm of faerie and the corporeal realm of modern day Ireland. hope you enjoy it.

Hi, I'm new here but I just listened to both Sunrise and Midnight and I just thought I'd let you know that I enjoyed them! Nice job, good lyrics and I like the way you associated a lot of the lyrics with the chords etc. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be to maybe experiment with some more dynamics but nice job!
