This composition is a bit different from my others as it actually gives a message... I outlined the main theme a long time ago, but it took me quite some time find the correct melody and chord progressions to produce the effect I was looking for. I think it turned out quite okay and would really like to know what you guys think. Please view and give me feedback. :)

And..emm.. Can anyone give me some examples of contemporary piano composers? I'm really confused because I've listen to a few composers who call their compositions "contemporary", but, strangely, the type of music sounds totally different. So can anyone clarify this with me?

A score would help alot, but it sounds good.

It sounds like the bass has alot of repeated notes, which reminds of some of Yann Tiersen's stuff specifically "Comptine d'une autre ete" (forgive my probably incorrect french spelling. It also reminds of Michael Nyman's "The heart asks the pleasure first".

Keep it up and please upload a score if you can.

I know... But I can't find a good free music notation software. And it takes quite long to do it manually. And I don't know how to use MIDI. Do you need to install a MIDI software? *sigh*

But thanks...=)

I tend to think of music a lot on those terms (effort, satsfaction and frustration). Something that works as an effort is a bass line going up and say, if ur main key is C minor and u are on E major about to reach C minor agan, do F major with C on the bass. I guess u can play with that. Check this vid: YouTube - Karajan - Beethoven Symphony No. 3 'Eroica' - Part 1 (Beethoven's 3rd) and hear 4:55 to 5:45. The chord at 5:40 is the biggest frustration-almost-satisfaction I've ever heard on music. (would be better if u hear the whole thing of course).

Yeah, i see what you mean. 5.40 is total frustration. It feels like it's hanging on the verge of satisfaction but never quite reaching it. Rather unpleasant feeling I would say. But that's the whole point, right? :)

Whereas in my composition, I move to a chord V - G major in the key C - at 2.06, which causes the frustration to finally meet satisfaction (at least that was what I wanted it to do). And thanks for watching. :)
