Trombone solo with piano

Featured Replies

My friend from school asked me to write him a trombone piece in Eb minor. I have never written for trombone before and havent showed it too him yet so I would love some criticism. Thanks!

For Paul copy copy copy copy.mus

This is so utterly terrible that i can't open it.

don't have finale

Good start, w/ good chord changes. However, both rythmically and melodically the piece is extremely repetitive and is slighly boring, i.e. the trombone has basially only dotted half notes. But other than that good job, and don't be afraid to write difficult music!!

yeah i wrote it really fast and im aware its extremely repetitive and I plan on working on it some more so I just wanted to get some ideas. I appreciate the comment. :)

You wrote it extremely fast, and it's kind of obvious. The base material is nice, but you don't do anything with it.

You obviously have a decent trombonist (high D's)...so why not give him something interesting to play.
