Curved lines in Sibelius

Featured Replies

Is it possible to draw curved lines in Sibelius (V. 5)? Of course, not slurs, and not a graphic.

For example, curved glissandos and pitch bends on guitar/string instruments/trombone/voices.

Cheers.

Yes. Use the manual.

Other than that, you might use the very versatile slur tool, which allows you to create nodes and pull them to any direction and create curves in a way more flexible way than finale allows you to.

Why do you not like the slur tool? It's a tool, it doesn't mean it HAS to be used just for slurs, if you find another use for it.

Sorry. I did try to be specific.

A curved line, not a slur. In other words, a slur that has constant thickness.

In finale you can generally change the shape of the smart shapes. I bet you can find something similar in the Sibelius manual (I don't really use sibelius so i wouldn't know).

Why do you want the curved line for anyway? Isn't it something an altered sluuur can do for you?

In the very worse of occasions, and if you're totally unable to find this in the sibelius manuals and absolutely have to have it on your score, then simply just create some space on your sibelius score, print it out, draw the line by hand with a pen, and re-scan the page. And that should solve all your problems. :X

You can make a new line based on the slur but remove the tapered ends. If you want more specifics, see the manual first and then ask me.
