Worst auditions

Featured Replies

I thought this might be a little interesting...

I'll start first.

10th grade all state choir auditions 2nd round

I was a bit sick that day. My throat refused to stop itching.

So really, I just didn't do very well...

number of times I coughed when I was supposed to breathe: 1

number of extra breaths: 3

number of sight reading blunders:2

number of mistakes that weren't sickness related:1

(well I COULD blame the distraction from being sick)

I'm sorry I didn't fail in a comedic and epic manner.

I don't have bad auditions.

That's because you're gay. :P

The only bad audition I ever had was when I was sick, too. It was also the only audition where I didn't get the job for which I was auditioning.

I've always envied those singers who can sing through anything, come hell or high water - cold, flu, pneumonia, nodes, anything. I'm certainly not one of them.

I can sing through diseases, doesn't mean it comes out nice. :P

I can sing through sickness and with a sore throat! (wait for the guy..)

Oh, dear GOD! Why do people like that delude themselves???

People like this... make me sad. ::sigh::

:w00t:

I've been a BIG fan of John Daker since I first came across him AGES ago on EbaumsWorld. God...the way he wiggles his eyebrows in "That's Amore" ...Gold, pure GOLD!

Two for me.

First was a few years ago for BYSO. The admissions head was a former teacher of mine who never showed up to rehearsal (prompting a complaint to her boss from my mom and me). She told me that it was my turn by saying, "Sam, you've grown so much!". I didn't get in.

Second was last year at senior districts. Before my audition the judge was talking to me and she asked about my cello, so I told her about it, and then she proceded to talk about my eyes... it was very strange. She told me that they were very pretty and that my mother should be happy. I didn't get in.

Yeah... story of my life. "You have pretty eyes... wait, you think you can actually play?"

My worst audition ever was like 4 months ago ... it was an open audition ... so there were like 2000 people watching ( i swear it was awful ) .... i thought it was going to be in front of three duds wearing jeans ... but surprise when i got there .. so .. I was planing on playing "guitared duddel".. it it went VERY wrong ... I mean the music was fine .. but i was like a statue ... =s

and pale like a zombie ....

pffff awful day

lol, don't let discourage you. fear of stage is something most musicians experience.

i remember my first years at the academy, i had to play a complicated jazz tune and improvise on it, my hands were trembling, i was so scared i could barely play a note in the right tempo, let alone get something musical out of it, i was simply terrified.

i'll tell you the happy end also. after one year, my confidence rose, i was able to advance two steps because of hard work, and the next year i knocked alot of people off with my playing. the first steps are the scariest.
