Hey, everyone!

I'm on vacation, and this means it's time to write some more music.

The project is still the same: The Quest for Arn

This is very epic sounding and fits in well with the rest of the music. As usual. I see that few are taking the time to comment on this. It seems like it takes too much time to type a few words while listening to a piece of music.

There are a few of us here (though not many) that will still take the extra minute out of our busy schedules to let you know whether or not we liked the hard work you put into your creation.

Very nice

Ron

Very enjoyable. I like the gothic feel to the second half. Good work!

Thanks rolifer and Johnwilliamsfan for taking your time to listen to my work and provide me with your feedback. As I said before, I really appreciate it!

Pedro!

Awesome. I can totally imagine film, I can even smell the atmosphere of it :).

Windy, windy. Do you have piano version?

  • Author

backupproducer,

Unfortunately I don't have a piano version for this piece, since it was scored directly for the whole orchestra (plus the organ). Yet, I can provide you with the full score (via messenger, for instance), in case you're interested. In time, you're totally welcome to create the piano version yourself. I'd really like to see what it would sound like =)

Thanks for your appreciation,

Pedro

Hi Pedro,

It's just awesome, the vibe and the grandness. It just feels huge, I feel like I'm just a humble figure listening. But... (sorry there's a but...) maybe you could just put it down one step. Sometimes it's just a little bit too much. I also think the organ is a little bit too harsh, too much 'there' if you know what I mean. Well maybe it's just me, being an donkey... I'll stop now, but I'd love to hear some piano music of yours. I think that would be awesome...

Cheers, Chris

Thanks ChrisisD for taking your time to listen to my music.

I'll take your feedback in consideration if I ever come to work on that piece again.

With regards to my piano music, I have a piece called "Silence at the Ruined Temple" which, though containing a background string arrangement, is mostly piano-driven.

You can check it out at: http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/silence-ruined-temple-15876.html

Hope you like it =)

It def does comes across as epic with your orchestration and choice of thematic/harmonic material. I do think some modulation or borrowed harmonies suggestive of other keys would add another level to the work.

Thanks Majesty for the feedback!

I know what you mean, but this piece happens to be an early composition, written at a time when I wasn't that acquainted with modulations and other technical resources that, today, I make a wider use of.

Anyway, I appreciate your suggestion, and (who knows?) maybe it can prove itself of great use in a future remake of this piece.

Pedro

Of course, I've actually created more mature works from earlier creations that lacked the understanding that I have now. So def keep and I'm sure you'll once again be inspired to use the same material in a more mature fashion as a composer ;)
