Concerto in D minor

Featured Replies

Hey,

This is just a short little violin concerto I wrote up this past weekend. It's written in the baroque style with much influence from Vivaldi.

It's in 3 short movements:

I. Allegro

II. Largo

III. Vivace

Here's the mp3

SoundClick artist: Jonathan Metzinger - page with MP3 music downloads

I didn't have much time to mix and master it, so the bass sounds just a bit muddy.

Enjoy!

Thanks, Vivaldi is a major influence of mine.

I didn't mention that in the .mp3 I included a realized continuo part (as played by a harpsichord). I got a bit to lazy and didn't include figured bass in my score. I might add it in later.

I just wanted to add that this was a little study of mine using ritornello form.

i think it is a very nice work. quite good, but maybe there are some parts that become a bit repetitive, but not a lot. a little little bit :P

i really liked it overall. bad you didnt go on with the second movement, it has a very nice beginning.

Thank you! Yes, ritornello form can get a little bit repetitive. And since I was on a deadline (for my music theory class), I was only able to make the second movement more of a 'transitional movement' for the bigger outer movements.
