Spirit of Love - 4 Final Songs

Hi everyone,

I´m quite new in this forum and my English isn´t very good, so please excuse my bad english knowledge :D

I wrote a couple of songs dedicated to my girlfriend. That´s why I call the "Album" "Spirit of Love". Please listen to this 4 songs and leave some comments.

I think this songs are "final" but I think nothing is perfect ;)

Walk on a shiny day

This song ought to create the image of a pair taking a walk on a sun-shiny day in spring. The are walking through a park where butterflies are flying, flowers are blooming...

It shell create the image of day in spring. :)

The spirit of Flamenco

This song has a argentinian/spanish flair. The rhythm of the drums reminds of a "Tango". It tried to capture this tango flair in this song, because I needed a song to practice the dancing steps of Tango with my girlfriend somehow... :happy:

A last war

This song is inspired by John Williams and Star Wars. In the beginning it sounds quite like Star Wars but the rest isn´t. Some of my friends say it reminds them of a PC Game like "Call of Duty" or "Battlefield", some say it reminds them of roman soldiers and/or of the film "Gladiator". :P

Just listen to it and create your own image...

Memories of Love

I wrote this song at the end of a day on a sun set. I tried to capture the beauty of a sun set with this song and the emotion I had, when I was looking at it with my girlfriend...

Please mates listen just to one of these songs and comment them :)

I love how your songs sound so alive, notably "Walk on a sunny day". I didn't really like "A last war" though. The rhythm gets very repetitive quickly, which doesn't flow too well for a dynamic type action song. And after a while, all I can hear is that annoying rhythm. I can't even hear anything else going on cause I'm so annoyed.

Wow! I really love you style! You music sounds almost like film music, was that your intention? The recordings themselves are also beautiful, are they live? My favorite was probably "Spirit of Flamenco". I love Spanish style music. I wish I could write music in this style, it is lovely!

I agree with LongeBane about "A Last War" however, but it is pretty cool, very video game.

First of all these songs aren´t live, even if the sound so ^^ I used Gigastudio 3 Orchestra and Sony Vegas Studio to create a realistic reverb.

I think that´s the reason why the songs sound "live" but I don´t really know ^^

I´m really proud that you like my songs :D

BTW:

I finished another song called:

Innocence

In this song I used the violin really excessive...Because it has such a strong sound. In the end I used a fade out because I don´t know how to finish this song with one accord, but I think the way I solved this problem isn´t that bad :)

Very nice works, Jen at first I was fooled by the sound of the strings, but soon realized that it was most definitely giga studio/EWQL or any other program affiliated with that, mainly because live instruments wouldn't have that type of sound that "took over"

In the spanish song did you get you get alot of inspiration from mendehlsshon? Bruch? ha ha........

I really love your melodies, you craft them with such great VIVACE!

Only complaint would be that repetitious background, but the melodies were SO amazing that I didn't really care.

It was hard to make an opinion on the war, mainly because I see where the other two are getting at, but the brass chords aren't as great as the strings so the expression of the brass was LACKING, ha ha..... Giga can't do it all!

You like anime? wanna teach me some stuff, I'd love to see the scores to Walk on a shiny day, or spirit of the Flamenco.

You're songs remind me of Koji Kondo's Zelda music a little, but you clearly have your own style. I love them all, but "A last war" was my favorite.

Your music seems to just emit the feeling of love with every strained note. Your orchestrations are so full and lush. It makes me fill with emotion. This is just superb! But I have to say that my favorite in this album must be Memories of Love. I think the pop influence is definitely a bonus for you (some composers I feel it hurts.)

BTW, I love how your music sounds so professional! The string patches are amazingly realistic. I'm going to have to see if I can find a soundfont that comes close to comparing with it.

My only problem with your songs is that it becomes really repetitive and the fact i've heard it before many times.

However, wow, You have a lot of skills. Mind giving me the classical guitar part in your flamenco song? Every note had so much expression in it. Your compositions are all very intense. My favorite is the flamenco song and my least favorite is the war one. I think more variation in the background would help all your pieces be more interesting.

You'd need a lot of articulations to have a realistic sound, which soundfont just can't handle. I'm not saying there aren't good soundfonts, but you will defintely know a song is not live, no matter how much reverb or eq you put in it. Quality = $$

I´m a bit busy at the moment...and I´ve got no Internet at home at the moment because I´m changing my contract with Provider (I want a better Internet Connection with more speed^^ from DSL1000 to DSL6000 if it want to know the specific details :wacko: )

Would it be enough if I enable the MP3 Download? I don´t know if there are some programms to convert MP3 into MIDI Files...but after a small Google Research there must quite a lot...

I was semi-joking.

But I have found a few soundfonts that are quite good for the price of $0. They're just a pain to set up, due to the articulations and such, but I'm getting what I payed for ;) .

Anyway, I much prefer having a live orchestra perform works whenever possible, but when it's not possible, you have to jump to things like soundfonts and GigaStudio and such.

Mole:

Those MP3 to MIDI programs are all junk. Most are for monophonic lines only, and even then, they don't work too well. You'll have to create them. I suggest making the scores PDF files. I don't know much about your notation editor, but if it prints out, you should get CutePDF. It acts like a printer, but generates PDF files, and it's a snap to set-up.

Can't you just export the midi-out information onto a mid?
