Meditations (atonal)

Featured Replies

Here is a quartet for clarinet, piano, violin, and viola. It is somewhat post minimalist in style and is atonal. Enjoy!

This was presented very well!

Nice mix and great use of dynamics.

You also did a very nice job of using tuplets.

Well done

Haha, talk about a messy score. I'm sure you have that sorted though.

It's quite cool. Might wanna put those extra high violin notes down an octave and write the 8va there.

The semi quaver - Triplets - quaver rhythm is something I really enjoyed the sound of when i first heard it so i'm glad you have it in here, it suits that daunting piano thats creeping up on me all the time.

Again with sounds, what software are you using?

I'm impressed. I'm normally not one for atonal music, but this piece is very well done. I will listen to again later and tell you why I like it.

Interesting. Not bad :)

This mp3 was made with Garritan Personal Orchestra.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

thanks! I'm glad + flattered that my music appeals to those who do not usually like atonality.

Yeah, this has some charm, it's pretty affable (though, admittedly, I do enjoy some atonal music). I especially enjoy the textures and the use of this ostinato-like bit in the piano, use of certain color techniques (like that spooky pizz thing at the end - I assume that's manipulated through your sequencer somehow?). But, yes, overall, very well done - nice 'nightmusic,' if you will.
