piano-violin

Featured Replies

Hi,

This is a piano song I composed with a violin section. Comments or suggestions are welcome.

Pretty good. The beginning was pretty repetitive and boring, but when the violin kicked in it became more interesting. (although it felt like it was ofsinc once in a while) I noticed several speed changes as well... Maybe you could play with a click track or with a metronome?

Hi

thanks for the comment. I know the beginning is quite repetitive so I think I'll add something there. It's only the first version so plenty of room for changes :)

Thanks,I'm working on other songs for the moment. As soon as they are finished I will post them here and on youtube.

i wouldn't worry too much about it being repetitive in the beginning. it's a really cool and effective riff to begin with, and i like the pace with which you built it up/drew back, etc. where it lacks in harmonic variation or whatever, you managed to give it a great drive. kept me listening all the way through and i was kind of disappointed there wasn't more (kind of just drops at the end, actually.)

would you say this was mostly improvised? it has that kind of sound to it.

yeah, you could say it was mostly improvised. The piano part, as well as the violin part, were created while I was improvising on the piano. It sounded right and the music wrote itself actually( if you know what I mean :) ) I finished the song in less than an hour. The end is abrupt but I'm working on another piano piece and I would really like to combine both parts. I think it will be finished at the end of the week.

Thanks for the comment.
