arpeggios used in melody writing

i was just wondering what your opinion on using arpeggios in melodies is and if you have done this before. if so in what way?

arpeggios are a good embellishment for melodic material, imho. A lot of composers used arpeggios also for melody itself (Schubert, Mozart, Rossini, Bach, Schumann, Puccini - list goes on and on.)

Nope, never done it. Now what? :X
