Exposition

Featured Replies

Hi,

So i just learnt the structure of sonata form from my AS teacher and thought I'd give it a shot myself.

I've just finished the exposition (or at least what i hope is an exposition!)

I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to tell me if this is going in the right direction to a complete sonata, and if this is good enough for an initial draft of the exposition?

I've yet to put any dynamics or articulation in, this is normally something i do when i have completed a piece.

Thanks,

Ferret

Piano Sonata.mid

Don't know much about sonatas, (or anything for that fact hehe)

But I'd love to see someone attempt at playing that 'furiously'.

You gotta have chops to pull that one off :D

I've just realised for some reason the tempo in the midi was far higher than i originally intended

I've updated the midi at the correct tempo - thats probably why it seemed idiomatically imposible :S

Don't know a thing about sonatas but it sounds good :S

lol...I can tell an organist wrote this.

At a quick glance, you seem to have the basic form in order.

Well done. Clearly you're more familiar with his idiom, no? Keep it up! I like it.

What do you mean by this?

Curious because when I wrote an organ piece, people kept saying that a piano player wrote it.

Thanks for the feedback guys :) pleased that the basic form is all there :)

you're right i am an organist BP3 :P although I have unfortunately found myself without an easily accesible organ for several months now :(

Thanks,
