A year and half of music (classical/hollywood)

Featured Replies

hello my fellow musicians,

I had wanted to introduce to you music done through my thoughts. in the last year and half I've scored and composed music for paid gigs and i had wanted to share them all with you. its a world of music that i truly hope you will enjoy and i didn't want it to die with it being at least heard and criticized.

Sherief Abraham - Film and TV composer

Music that I've labeled "score" is scores that I've edited together so it might sound odd in transitions but never the less i assure you it will reward your ears with music you've never heard before.

I hope you will truly enjoy it and feel something out of it.

I think, at this point, it would be a good idea if you commented on other people's work. I notice you have 9 posts, and they are all directly related to your own music.

By the way, this thread has been moved to a more appropriate section of the forum.

Your right sir. i should get to know my friends here.

Some really entertaining stuff you have. There are allot of works on your website so I won't take the time to comment on any one specific. But I am impressed. Are any of these done with live Orchestra?

Some very very nice stuff in there! Congratulations!

thank you! i'm very happy that you liked it!

Well, your music is good, no doubt about that. However, I am interested why is a professional composer interested in comments from a forum, it's not like you don't get them anywhere else... is it?

PhantomOftheOpera,

I'm very flattered that you think of me as a professional. it never occurred to me that i am and in fact I'm not sure i want to consider my self one. In order for me to achieve my Goal which is achieving a certain style of music that i hope to master in my life time, i have to admit to my self the truth which is i'm no where good near it. why do i post on forums? because hearing people's opinion is the most important thing for music shaping. everyone has there opinion regardless of there background in music. everyone has a heart that i want to know if i touched or not. it is cheesy to say but its straight to the truth of what i really want.

thanks for listening!

Well in that case, I can say that your stuff is great, but then again thats just me, I really like movie soundtracks and you have a couple of nice ones going on, I particularly like Epic Discovery Score.

A friendly advice tho', you might wanna consider expanding and modernizing your website a bit ;) What I am usually interested in about composers is their bio, what instruments they play, their influences etc... kind of gives you an insight into the mind of a certain composer...

In a word, slick

That was a real treat to listen to. Amazing stuff.

Very, very nice. The Movie Award one sounded a little like Zelda music at the beginning.

You mentioned all of your stuff is computerised, not recorded live? May I ask what software you use(d)? Or is that a trade secret? Haha. I want to go into film and video game scoring and I want to have realistic sounding versions of my music for demo CDs for college.

So you are assuming that no one here is a professional? You'd be wrong. Everyone likes to talk about his or her work. Do you think that just because I compose something for a client, I don't want others to hear and dig it? Why wouldn't I? Why wouldn't you?

Thank you guys! i thought that thread was dead!..lol i'm very happy that you all like it.

Chemical reaper, everything is computerized, i use logic 8 with Vsl, east west Gold, sonic implants and symphobia. cost? alot of money...lol i'm currently working on my symphony#1 which is going to take me until this years end. so hopefully I'll be able to somehow make it grand and realistic with these sounds but the problem with using sounds like these and software, is it takes you off trying to write in the right way. you get obsessed with the realism of sounds that sometimes you have to go off the notation rules and extend and control velocity of sounds so it sounds right but looks like alien language on a notation sheet. so yeah some of that music on my website is impossible to notate now. So watch out for that, if your going to get into samples.

Sounds very good--what samples/sampler do you use?
