April 3, 200917 yr So I'm about to start writing a piece for trumpet and piano. I want to look at some existing works for that instrumentation, but I don't know any. Anyolne have any recommendations? (Preferably more modern stuff) Thanks!
April 6, 200917 yr Eric Ewazen's "Sonata" for trumpet and piano is a great piece; definitely give it a listen. Aside from that; try "Trumpet Songs" by Jennifer Higdon.
April 6, 200917 yr Hindemith is good too. Well, he wrote a sonata for every orchestra instrument. Can't believe I forgot to mention him.

April 6, 200917 yr "Concert Etude" by Alexander Goedicke "Sonata" by Kent Kennan "Concerto" by Arutunian (i think it's concerto...) As a trumpet player, these are some of my favorites
