Finale 2009 - doubling up on instruments

I'm using Finale 2009b with Garritan orchestra sound library. Is it possible with this setup to double up on instruments in a single stave like if i have an oboe player doubling on cor anglais, and i want him to play a cor anglais solo in the middle of the oboe line..? I'm sure I could just manually mark it as a cor anglais solo and write the notes, but is it possible for finale to recognize this and for playback function to be affected?

with GPO instruments you must load each one in an individual channel.

you can then create a text expression which changes the channel of your staff, temporarily, to that other channel number.

for example, if your oboe is on channel 2, you load the cor anglais as channel 3. make a text expression that changes the channel to 3 ("to english horn", or "cambia in corno inglese" or whatever language you want to use), and also create one that returns to the original channel (something like "to oboe" or "cambia in oboe").

so yes, it is possible to have one of each on each staff.

you can also make a staff style that will allow for the transposition of your english horn.
