New song - Extra Bones

Featured Replies

Hi guys, i am looking for some extra oppinions on a new song i'm working on.

I wanted to get across a sense of reptitiveness which is at the same time racing. It's a bit different in terms of structure and general vibe, but I hope someone likes it

I quickly threw the lyrics together and CANNOT sing so please overlook that. Also, could you also comment on the general mix, if perhaps the drums are too loud or similar? thank you heaps.

I think is quite good, the drums are ok you could perhaps use a little more powerful bassdrum and sustain the harmony bass a bit louder because I felt a little lack of low frequencies.... You could also spread the sound more in PAN (L, R,) the hats too, ... aftef all, this is an Electronic piece, nobody expects hearing a true live drummer playing.

...for the rest ...sounds good...Bbm is always a good tonality and the Eb Mayor chord presence makes it better.

I like these ideas a lot--reminds me a little of New Order.

Production quality could be better though--as SYS65 said there is a lack of low frequencies. To my ears, this would be much better with some solid bass and kick. Also, you should bus everything to a reverb (on individual sends)--that would really pull things together, even if the reverb is almost undetectable it will make your mix gel.
