Some Pop Rockish stuff

Featured Replies

This is a song i wrote with my buddy a couple months ago called "Through it All". The vox are kind of badly EQed in this mix. Kind of a cheesy break-up song.

This one called "Beneath Your Hands". It was the last track on an album we recorded.

Could i maybe get any critique on this good/terrible, it would help me out a lot, i respect all of your input very much on YC. Thank you so much!

I listened to Trough It All.

Not bad at all for a pop song, I think it pretty much has all the stuff a pop song needs to have. The string part at the end is nice. I would just like it better if it had a nice break-down part, no drums, maybe just piano and guitar, and then a big last chorus, with distorted guitars etc... Also a guitar solo would be great, maybe in a one-step modulation of the original chord progression. And a change of drum-line, it remained the same throughout the whole thing.

Other than that I think its good enough to make most emo-kids cry :D

haha thanks dude, if i can make an emo cry i have succeeded:P

You're right, it does leave one's ear wanting some variation, but the truth is that when we wrote and recorded this song over the course of a night (and a bottle of whisky) we had like a special thing going you can't replicate outside of the moment, so we kept it and edited it as it was. It ended up on my buddy's album which hasn't been released. Thank you for your kind words. :)

yeah i agree with the variation comment. sounded like it needed to break into some big chorus with more vocals and what not.

the mix sounds a little imbalanced frequency wise. and i don't know how i feel about the sequenced drums sitting on top of everything.

not a bad song at all though. pretty good.

well produced :-)

Thank you all. Yes, this wasn't the final mix so EQ was fixed and beat was brought under the mix :)

Thank you so much for the comments, it helps a lot :D

I would love the song to change structurally but it is what it is, if you can understand that...:)
