Beyond Infinity

Featured Replies

not sure if kytrekker approved it yet. still awaiting feedback from his forum.

but anyway. it's one minute long but i wouldn't go any longer than that for this piece.

1. Techniques used

staccato strings. lots of timpani and cymbal. and tried flute runs. worked out great.

2. How long it took to compose the piece

four days.

3. Structure of your piece

hard to tell but it looks to me like an A-B-C-D-A-E form.

4. Obstacles when composing

some hissing noise keeps popping up somewhere. it might still be there. but it's not as audible.

5. Summary of overall piece

i tried to stick with the conventional orchestra instruments thist time. seems like i finished what i setted out to do.

enjoy

Hmm, not exactly what I expected for a Star Trek piece, but it's not bad in its own right. What's the context of this cue, by the way? It sounds really upbeat and light-hearted, like a celebration theme, but I remember Star Trek music as mostly slow and solemn, even in celebration.

well. i've only seen probably a total of 15 minutes of star trek ever. i do know one of the star trek themes however, because my fellow trumpet players in 8th grade band played it a lot of times for warmup. and i'm pretty sure it wasn't slow, it was pretty energetic. and besides. star wars is sci-fi, and it sounds a bit like a celebration theme too.

but yeah. i'd have to agree. i didn't think it fitted the sci-fi genre that well. but kytrekker seems to like it. so it's all alright.

context? no clue. i was just picturing a main title theme.

Whoa awsome!

I would say it brings a bit of the composer to star trek.

You should make that longer, I wanted to hear more!

Hey gang!! Well..I have to say, I am most impressed with "Beyond Infinity"! I think it's awesome, and so does everyone else that's heard it so far. As far as it being more upbeat and celebrative...true..but if you think about this: Original Trek theme...upbeat, Next Generation..upbeat....Deep Space 9 and Voyager, slower tempo. I guess it depends what you're going for. I like themes that have emotion in them whether upbeat or not. I imagine if beefy worked on a version that matched the tempo of DS9 or Voyager, it would be just as great!

So far....unless he decides to re-work it or slow it down...I'm pretty sure Beyond Infinity is going to be our opening theme...I wouldn't mind hearing a slower tempo version, but this one is GREAT!!!!

THanks so much for your hard work and for doing such a great job!!
