Pasticcio Defragmentendum

Featured Replies

This orchestral pastiche (of melodies by (J.S.) Bach, Mozart and one Beethoven melody), as the title suggests ("defragmentendum" being a made-up Latin word for "to be defragmented"), needs some serious help in its transitions. I would like to read your comments on it and its many improvements to-be-done.

sorry but for me this piece sounds too noisy and cahotic. it has some interesting orchestral effects but i couldn't hear any logic line or purpose along the whole piece. maybe as a soundtrack for some action movie it could work better but then i would need some images to build up any sense. regards!

I would tend to agree, if you're going for a more classical feeling, then it needs to be more structured. However, it sound like you're going for a more modern touch. If you are, I suggest studying some scores by Aaron Copeland and Carlisle Floyd. These guys have basically the kind of sound I think you are tyring to achieve. Good concept, and pretty energetic, but the scoring is a little hectic.
