Out of the Primordial Ooze or Turtles all the Way

The complete title is Out of the Primordial Ooze or Turtles all the Way Down

I have been teaching full time for the last few weeks and doing my other work as well, so I have not had time to be here much lately. I started this one just before I started teaching and finished it up today. I think that since I wasn't composing a lot, my muse might have gone on vacation.

The piece uses GPO, JABB and a number of Synths.

To me the piece has aspects of a middle, a transition from a brash outspoken electronic character to a more classical quiet introspective character. Thus a middle. The opening has a slight comical tone while the ending leans to melancholy.

I don't think I understand the title. Your music has an unreal dreamscape atmosphere that could suit a number of situations, various plots for animations for example.

I like it but it does seem unfinished - more added at both ends might work.

That was really interesting and cool! You held the atmosphere perfectly throughout the entire piece! :) Well done. I'm not sure what else to say, except I don't know why you finished on an Ab Major chord. Considering the harmonies used throughout the rest of the piece, this one seemed the most out of place for the piece. Maybe make it more...."jazzy"? I'm not one for imagining things early in the morning at school when sleep deprived, but I maybe just experiment with a Major/Minor 7? Don't need to though haha. Just an option :)

I don't think i'm clever enough to get this piece ... what does it all mean? :-(

I am sure you know that the Primordial ooze is where many scientists believe life started. Turtles all the way down, is an obscure reference to a old belief that the universe sat on top of a turtle, which in turn sat on top of a turtle, on top of a turtle...all the way Down.

I have been doing a number of synth and orchestral pieces that seem to be part of a suite. I have 4 of them now and am working on a 5th. I think they all make more sense when they are strung together.

I am never entirely happy with my endings and this one will change in time.

:D This is a very colorful piece! The whole time I felt the sensation of fluidity, of everything spinning and writhing in the deep. In the first part, I felt a sense of danger but then it became calmer and I suddenly imagined a documentary, like the Disney True Life Adventures movies. I really liked that strange, electric guitar synth coming in occasionally, like a wave breaking the calm. I also enjoyed the pacing, as it didn't get monotonous, and liked the question mark left at the end. Will there be more turtles in your future?:)
