Sway (Full Album)

An Album of Commercial-Common music, (which I actually plan to sell somewhere, somehow) focused to “normal” people, so it wouldn’t surprise me if some of you find it too common.

The order of the tracks has a purpose so if you are willing to spend 63 minutes listening I would appreciate very much, but if not, I understand.

If you are not going to listen the full album, read the short description of each track to see what’s interesting to you. I recommend tracks 3,6,9.

All this kind of music I make it just for fun, it’s made with FL Studio mainly and Adobe Audition to record and mix the guitar in tracks 2 & 4.

Listen to the entire Album (62:47 min)

links of each track:

1 Intro (2:13) (Mar 11 2009)

A pure introduction track, the 2nd track starts very soft and I didn’t want to my album start soft.

2 Being watched Sense (2:56) (Feb 1 2009)

A feeling of unsure and hesitating peace state, weird vibrant strings, piano, and Elec. Guitar.

3 You're so Cool (7:00) (Feb 23 2009)

A Dance-Pop Night Club track, very simple is harmony and structure but full of lively and vivid ambient, having the bass-line as main element, with cool glissandos and timbre. Introducing the Vocoder speaking the tilte.

4 My House on the Clouds (11:49) (Feb 27 2009)

Peaceful and Relaxing track, altering strings as the main element, simple beat and a very discreet Elec. Guitar in the background, a really calm nice ending.

5 The Ardent Way (4:55) (Feb 25 2009)

Vigorous piece, chords motifs plus glissando bass-line, cool effects at 2:47, introducing the Oboe as a pure Synth element doubling the glissandos.

6 Pure Night Sky (5.16) (Mar 5 2009)

A New-age track with an interesting Flute and Crum-Horn (Cromorno), nice piano segments and a constant deep kick in the beat.

7 Your Latin-Web (6:37) (Mar 8 2009)

Latin feeling within an elec-pop piece, Latin Jazz melody with “Honky-tonk“ piano, vibraphone segments, Rhodes (elec-piano), vocoder and some latin percussions. The “web” word in the title has nothing to do with the Internet, it has a different meaning I won’t mention here.

8 I will wait for the Moment (7:45) (Mar 16 2009)

The most “Meditation” piece of the album, containing no clear beat, harmony moving very slowly, C major ambient and melody and discreet rain and water sounds. When you don’t know what to do, you just …. wait …. and enjoy what you have.

9 I will hold to the End (8:16) (Mar 14 2009)

The Antithesis of the 8th track, full of courage and fight feeling, handling the synthesizers like orchestra, including a lot of synth resources.

The only piece with true “inner meaning” that’s why the longer description:

Through years I’ve been “fighting” against some illness, and sometimes it gets pretty annoying, that’s when I got angry with myself, or sometimes just sad…

I made this piece to give courage to myself, to remind me that no matter how tedious can become, or how difficult the life may be, I will go on and I will hold to the End.

I must say that tracks 3 & 9 has been released on previous threads, but this is the whole “collection”.

I hope you like it at least one of the 9 tracks.

hey, cool! thanks for post

Ooo I see ... have a nice trip

I listened to the first two tracks so far. The intro is very cool. The second track has some interesting themes and I like the development. The drum sound is a bit odd in the second track, though. There are two things that strike me about them -- one, the snare is a bit flat, and two, there is some kind of weird delay on the drums. If you want delay on the drums then I think you should create a send track and use different amounts on the individual drums (assuming, of course, that it's an instrument and not a loop).

To liven the drum sound I'd start with EQ -- a little more in the 3 - 5 khz range. If that's not enough, maybe some light compression. They just kind of sit there when there is so much interesting ambience going on.

You have a knack for creating interesting tensions and changes. Looking forward to listening to the rest...

Yeah, cool album, i will buy if is publicate one day

I will buy if is publicate one day

I want to, but ... do you have any idea of how to do it here in Mexico ?...

smueske: I did send the cymbals to a delay bus, but I don't remember if i did with the rest of the beat...

what you say about the EQ is for .... ? the Snare Drum only ....

there is not loop samples so I can handle every sound differently.

for me, 2nd is the most "home made" track, mostly because it was the first one, and also because I was focused in the Guitar...

but naaaa. it's ok,.... keep listening....:)

EDIT: The first one since Dic 2005....

Another track

“Routine” is a piece I made for this album but I removed it because I thought it doesn’t fit well with the other tracks, I created this after track 7 (so would be the 8th) in Mar 2009, my reasons at that time were that the track is not completely within the style of the other tracks, and this album has one soft, one loud, and that would interrupt the structure. Also, the harmony is not as “easy to listen” as the others.

I named it “Routine” because that’s what it is, nothing more than one more track I made while I’m in the computer. In this piece there is and increment of complexity in harmony, while the rest stays almost static, the chords go getting more and more outside the style until they finally break the whole thing, that’s why I removed it.

Now I’ve been thinking that I could add this as a “Bonus Track” (at the end) like saying, “the album is over but ok, here’s one more”

What do you think ? What would you do ?

I do like how the album is taking you through the 50 minutes, and the last track “I will hold to the End” is perfect to finish, so I could spoil the whole thing, should I keep this track as the forgotten piece of Sway ?

Listen here

cool rola, i love it
