Vernon
"Mahler was always obsessed with death as evident in his fear of writing a 9th symphony because he thought that he'd die soon after its completion." -Romanticist Somebody should have told Haydn and mozart that.... jk

SYS65
Yes, everyone must die, but Shosty actually composed the best symphonies after the 9th, ... 10,11,12,13 ... the 14 is kind of weird structure and 15 even more, sounds like he was actually getting mad :D --------------- Hey, anyone can tell me something about this: Also, the powerful melody at the start of the 4th mov. is only on the strings, but is always perfomed by powerful horns (which I love that) and in the strings…. Do I have an old score or what’s the matter with that ? 1st time of course, 2nd and 3rd are in the strings only..

Anton Bruckner
Naxosmusiclibrary ?No I just have an Score of the symphony version 1906, and several recordings, why ? you said that you were listening to several recordings from a website. To my limited knowledge, there are only a few notable sites that offer streaming music: Naxosmusiclibrary, Classicalmusiclibrary, Musiconline. Of the three, Naxosmusiclibrary has most amount of streaming music~about half a million tracks of classical music.
