Short Orchestra Piece.

Featured Replies

This is a short orchestra piece that I made a few months ago.

I should add that I personally think this is the best display of what I have composed thus far as a beginning composer.

Enjoy

I will post the link to the mp3 later on today as well as the PDF file as I am ridiculously tired at the moment, 4:23 a.m in the morning.

Overall I liked it. I thought in the beginning it was going to keep building up to a loud bang at the Farmata, but I wasn't disappointed. Overall great. Loved the ending, except for the Timpani or whatever instrument that was with the quarter notes, but I don't think those were meant for anything. LOL. I liked it!

Ah. That was exactly what I was aiming for, the none disappointment part that is.

Thank you for the feedback, greatly appreciated.

I also liked it pretty well. One thing that bugged me though, is that a lot of things were always unison. The horn parts were pretty cool, but it would have been awesome to hear them split into harmony sometimes (horns in harmony is a wonderful sound!) Same with the oboe part at the beginning.

I like the mood you created, it was pretty cool. Mostly, avoid using too many unison lines unless they are totally necessary, because it can get a little boring when the same melody plays but there isn't much to back it up harmonically.

Thank you Jared. I will keep these things in mind as I continue to compose ^.^

Really nice job. I had no complaints about anything so far. Keep going and expanding!

Thank you RDD. ^.^

I had to turn up my volume to the max and can still barely hear this. If you download Audacity and Lame MP3 encoder, you can use those free programs to get more volume, or just turn it up in Finale.

You should have a mixer control somewhere in Finale where you can get some volume. You should also get rid of all of the empty measures before you make your wav file.

This is easily the best piece you have posted so far and is showing a lot of progress.

A PDF of the score might help others as well.

Nicely done.

Hm.

I'll look into that then.

I have Audicity, but not Lame Mp3 Encoder, I'll look into that.

Thank you.

Load your wav file into Audacity, go to edit/select all and then go to Effect/Amplify and this will increase your volume. If you download Lame and follow the directions to get it into Audacity, you can then export a MP3 from there. Make sure you go to preferences and choose a high bitrate but the higher the bitrate the larger the file. A higher bitrate will make your music sound better.
