hello friends,

I wanted to share with you a piece that came to me yesterday night and i finished today. I don't know what influence i had in it but i had many for sure. i wanted to know what you all think of it's rhythmic structure and melody. I'm open to criticism as well:thumbsup:

I hope you all enjoy it!

I use logic8 with eastwest Gold and vsl

I do not know your age, but by the sound of it you must be around 16 or so. A piece is seldom writen and finished in a day ... Composing generally takes time and energy and time, lots of time

Haha I like it! Great.

thanks for listening. this one did take me less than 10 hours to make. Don't mean to show off but sometimes I'm proud of my self when i finish something as fast as i did with this one. and I'm 25.

Thanks!:)

I like it. I am young myself, so I cannot comment based on experience, but I will comment based on my taste. Some of the progressions became a little repetitive, but I enjoyed the piece overall. Energetic, strong brass lines, which I like a lot. Good for the time it was written in. Keep it up.

This is perfect for incidental music. If done in the background of a movie, the ostinatos would not seem repetitive.

Can you edit your first post and add the libraries you are using and the DAW.

Thanks

Ron

Thank you. i guess i am a film musician after all. i do tend to think in visuals when i make the music.

Sounds folk inspired. Like rolifer I think it makes great soundtrack and it didn't get boring for me. Unlike Beethoven guy though I found the harmonies rather mature and expressive. :)

thank you! yes it is very folk inspired. Russian folk that is..lol

coincidentally does the name have anything to do with tchaikovsky? :P... nice work! i can really imagine this going well with some magical fantasy-style like visuals. I use logic and east west too ^5 xD

thanks for listening! and yes the name does:toothygrin: but it also includes another famous russian musician. take a wild guess...lol

I think it was boring to listen to as serious piece. As film music it was good. But the harmonies were constantly like I-I-IV-II6-V (repeated too many times). Except for the end, the last half minute was more interesting. Still a cliche, but a relief after the ostinato.

I would definitely shorten the buildup, add a new theme, and than return the A theme; at least. But a more elaborate structure would be beter...

thanks for listening. i understand the repetitiveness of the 4 different chords that i use. i guess i wanted to see if i canget away with it by introducing changes in melody and harmonization of instruments but i guess i didn't. I'll improve in my next one!

thanks again!
