OMWBWAY
I'm looking for orchestral, band, any ensemble works that embody the sound of Africa or the Caribbean, musically. I'm doing research before I get started on my next project. I've already found plenty of folk music and unprofessional, local music, etc(there's tons on youtube), but I'd like to hear any concert composers takes on this ethnicity/genre/culture. Please let me know any works you know that could help, or even if you can point me in the right direction to a listing, or a website, etc, anything is very much appreciated. Thanks. nutrinoland
I cant really answer your question... but I know that u could use alot of percussion like djembes. Also u could watch this movie calle d'the power of one'..it has some scenes about an african choir....maybe u could get some stylistic tips from it....and the special features on the disc may have something on it about the score... sorry...cant really help you apart from that... good luck...

OMWBWAY
Thanks, both. Corbin, of what I could find on itunes, Youtube, his stuff was mostly latin, which helps some for the caribbean. Is there something I'm overlooking, do you know anywhere else I can listen to his stuff?
