minuet for vibraphone and lyra-bird

First off i love the combo - never heard that before. It worked best when the lyrabird had very idiomatic - eg fanciful birdlike - figuration around the vibraphone's steadier, less active melody. Now, this piece is OK as it stands with a few really wonderful parts (love the ending for example!). You need to work on interchanging roles - lyrabird acts more like a vibraphone and vibraphone more like a lyrabird. This would open up tremendous possibilities and make this into a very substantial piece. Right now it seems a mildly pleasant minuet with some charming instrumental effects. Franz, i think you could take this much much farther. Please do!

This is certainly a minuet with a difference! The lyra-bird vibraphone combination has some fine moments.

The idea merits being developed - I was wondering if a second lyra-bird could be introduced so the pair of birds could pick up some of the harmony that now is just in the vibraphone part. Somewhat along the lines of what composerorganist suggested - a role reversal.

The piece has a considerable charm with the vibraphone's steady pace contrasting to the lyra-bird's antics. :thumbsup:
