Music Box

Featured Replies

Created this with Ableton Live, using the Collision instrument for the music box sounds. The initial percussion that comes in and repeated throughout is a processed recording of me tapping my fingers on my desk. Other percussion is Stylus RMX, with strings provided by EWQLSO Gold. The only other instrumentation is a processed virtual Rhodes, which is Ableton's equivalent of Lounge Lizard.

Would love some feedback on this piece - hope you enjoy:

Music Box ...... aaaaaa .... beautiful ...

I like strong music but I admit sometimes is really nice to listen something like this and rest ..... just rest .......

The Kick .... well it interrupted my resting feeling .... but maybe putting it less loud (a bit) .... would be all what it needs ...... discrete

I liked it .... very good ...

This is really nice. I think the percussive segment could use a little more variation, though. It comes in three times and you are using a snare and bass drum synth sound on the same hits. The second time, it might be good to do a cut time feel with a new snare sound on beat three. I think it's fine the way it is, but with one slight variation I think it would add some additional interest. Really enjoyed the listen. Very relaxing.

Thanks for the comments. I agree with your suggestions - I was a little lazy with the percussion. :)
